Primary Function
*
<p>Manage the administration of project safety program to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.</p>
Typical Duties
*
<ul> <li>Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction areas, service jobsites.</li> <li>Identify, document, and recommend resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made.</li> <li>Investigate work related injury/ property/vehicle incidents.</li> <li>Maintain safety related documents.</li> <li>Conduct various industrial hygiene samplings, such as gas, 02, noise test to insure safe working conditions.</li> <li>Issue various entry permits (i.e., to confine spaces) as required.</li> <li>Assist in conducting employee/craft and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. May accompany federal, state and insurance inspectors on walk through tours.</li> <li>Assist in emergency rescues as required. Assist in maintaining fire protection and grounding systems.</li> <li>Participate in developing and conducting staff and trade safety training.</li> <li>Review safety related journals, catalogues, etc. to keep abreast of changes/improvements in protective safety equipment, materials, and gear.</li> <li>Assist in preparing written appeals for safety violation citations.</li> <li>Provide technical and administrative direction to on-site safety and first aid personnel.</li> <li>Assume additional responsibilities as directed by Safety Director and/or corporate executives.</li> <li>Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.</li> </ul>
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience

<ul> <li>Educational and experience requirements include: Four-year occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations at least 3-4 years construction/safety experience.</li> <li>Thorough understanding of all federal, state and local regulations.</li> <li>Ability to recognize hazardous situations & recommend corrective measures essential.</li> <li>Good interpersonal and communication skills required.</li> </ul>
